About AWO:

  • Arms Wide Open (AWO) is a ministry designed for individuals with special needs.
  • CCM understands and supports the individuals whose needs are best met in an exceptional setting—such as an adaptive classroom or by receiving some extra attention from a 'buddy' via inclusion.
  • The AWO classrooms are equipped with developmental and age-appropriate manipulatives; oriented toward visual and non-traditional learning methods, for the purpose of sharing God's word.
  • Volunteers are trained to help each individual do their very best, while maintaining an environment that is safe and happy.
  • We ask that all participants spend time in an AWO classroom initially. This provides rapport-building, and time for volunteers to familiarize themselves with the individual(s); enhancing our ability to best serve them.
